inDrive Empowers Nigerian Entrepreneurs with Free Parcel Coverage for Last-Mile Delivery

inDrive, a leading global platform in mobility and delivery services, has unveiled a new feature designed to bolster confidence among Nigerian entrepreneurs and small business owners. The platform now offers free parcel coverage for its courier service users in Nigeria, protecting parcels valued up to ₦50,000 against loss or damage during transit. This initiative aims to provide added security and peace of mind for businesses relying on last-mile delivery to serve their customers.

According to inDrive management, this new coverage is part of their commitment to empowering business users with reliable and trustworthy delivery solutions. Eligible participants can receive refunds for parcels lost or damaged in transit, ensuring they are not left to bear the financial burden alone. “Users who experience an issue with a delivery must contact Customer Support through the inDrive app within 48 hours of the parcel being picked up,” the company stated.

The new parcel coverage complements existing features available to inDrive.Courier users, including real-time tracking, courier verification, and the ability to share delivery links with recipients. The platform also offers flexibility in managing deliveries, allowing users to choose between motorcycles and cars based on parcel size, select couriers by rating, negotiate fares, and plan routes for multi-stop deliveries.

Business users will see a dedicated parcel coverage banner on their order forms and during active deliveries. In the event of a lost or damaged parcel, users can initiate a claim through the inDrive Customer Support feature within the app. Claims are typically reviewed within three to seven days, with refunds issued within 14 days for those who submit their bank details, subject to the coverage limit.

To ensure safety and security, all couriers undergo strict identity verification, including ID validation through government databases and driver’s license checks where applicable. The parcel coverage is available at no extra cost to eligible inDrive.Courier business users in Nigeria.

Commenting on the new feature, Timothy Oladimeji, Country Manager of inDrive Nigeria, expressed the company’s commitment to addressing key concerns faced by businesses relying on courier services. “A lost or damaged parcel can significantly impact a small business, affecting customer relationships and revenue. Every parcel an entrepreneur sends carries a piece of their business’s reputation. Parcel coverage means that if something goes wrong in transit, our users are not left to absorb the loss alone. It is one more way we are building trust into every step of last-mile delivery in Nigeria,” Oladimeji stated.
