MIPAN Elects Dozie Okafor as President and All You Need to Know About the New Excos

The Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) has elected Dozie Okafor, Managing Director, PHD Nigeria as its new president take charge of the affairs of the association alongside other executives.

He take over from Dr. Femi Adelusi’s led administration who sent four years in office.

Dozie was elected during the 2024 Annual General Meeting held at Lakowe Golf Resort in Lagos. Also, Brenda Nwagwu, Managing Director, QVT Media was elected as Vice-President; Ijeoma Okafor, Secretary; Olufunmilola Bamgboye, Assistant Secretary; Henry Ononiwu, Publicity Secretary; and Olufunmi Fajusigbe, Assistant Publicity Secretary.

Industry watchers expect that the new administration will raise the bar, build on the achievements of past administration and take the association forward.

Dozie started his career at OMD Nigeria in 2007.

He is a trained electrical engineer from the University of Nigeria and also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.

Dozie has worked at both OMD Nigeria and OMD Ghana across numerous brands. He then moved to PHD Nigeria to serve for 5yrs as the pioneer Head of Strategy and Planning.

He later joined Coca-Cola Nigeria where he served as the IMC lead , managing Regional Integrated Marketing Communication and Media/Assets Development for the West Africa Business Unit.

Dozie returned to PHD Nigeria in June 2017 as Managing director and looks sure to reinforce its success.

Meanwhile,  Brenda Nwagwu is a seasoned entrepreneur and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience across the Marketing Communications, Financial and Technology sectors.

She has led media investment strategy for brands from the stables of Guinness, Reckitt Benckiser, British American Tobacco, Standard Chartered Bank and Pepsi Co amongst others, while working with global media agencies; OMD and All Seasons Zenith Nigeria.

Following her passion for entrepreneurship, she founded QVT Media, a communication strategy, media planning, buying and sponsorship management company in 2012.
