NACCIMA Recognised for Industry-Led Skills Development, Private Sector Engagement at National TVET Conference
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), under the exemplary leadership of its National President, Engr Jani Ibrahim, has received a prestigious accolade recognising its dedication to skills development. At the recent National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Conference held in Lagos, NACCIMA was honoured with the award for Outstanding Private Sector TVET Partner.
The award was accepted on behalf of NACCIMA by the Director-General, Engr Sola Obadimu, during the event. The conference serves as Nigeria’s flagship platform for fostering collaboration among government, industry, academia, and development partners, all committed to positioning Technical and Vocational Education and Training as a vital engine for skills development, employability, and industrial competitiveness.
The event was convened by the Federal Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB). This year’s theme, “Harnessing TVET as a Pathway to Employment: Building a System for Employability, Inclusion, and Green Growth in Nigeria”, focused on aligning skills development with sustainable growth and inclusive employment.
Support for the conference came from the Government of France, with additional partnership contributions from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the German Government via GIZ-SKYE, the Delegation of the European Union (EU), the Federal Government of Nigeria, ECOWAS, the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), the Swiss Government, and UNESCO, among others.
The award underscores NACCIMA’s ongoing commitment to promoting industry-led skills initiatives, strengthening the linkages between private sector players and training institutions, and fostering demand-driven frameworks that address Nigeria’s labour market needs.
Through its strategic interventions and collaborative efforts, NACCIMA continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the skills gap, enhancing youth employability, and supporting enterprise growth as pathways to inclusive economic development.
The Association reaffirmed its dedication to deepening partnerships with relevant stakeholders to further strengthen Nigeria’s TVET ecosystem and ensure that skills development remains aligned with industry trends and national priorities.
