Nigeria–Britain Association Elects New Leadership at 57th AGM
The Nigeria–Britain Association (N-BA) convened its 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos, bringing together members from diverse backgrounds to review the organisation’s activities over the past financial year. The gathering served to evaluate progress and to elect new leaders to steer the association during the 2026/2027 term.
During the AGM, N-BA reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening Nigeria–UK relations through ongoing dialogue, networking opportunities, and strategic collaborations spanning business, culture, and professional sectors.
In line with the association’s constitution, Mr. Ademola Sanya was elected as President, with Dr. Bisi Bright stepping in as Vice President and Mr. Gafar Odubote appointed as Honorary Secretary.
Additional members elected to serve on the executive committee include Mrs. Funmilola Orokale as Honorary Treasurer and Mr. Adeleke Nadi as Assistant Honorary Secretary.
Furthermore, thirteen individuals were elected to the Governing Council to support the executive leadership in pursuing the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Members warmly congratulated the newly elected officers and expressed confidence in their ability to provide effective leadership throughout their tenure.
In his remarks, the newly elected President, Ademola Sanya, expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Mr. Sola Oyetayo, for his dedicated service and contributions, which helped strengthen the organisation’s institutional framework and strategic direction.
The new leadership aims to build upon the successes of previous administrations by deepening stakeholder engagement, increasing membership value, and reinforcing the association’s role as a premier platform for Nigeria–UK relations in trade, culture, and professional exchange.
The Nigeria–Britain Association reiterated its commitment to fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between Nigeria and the United Kingdom through structured programmes, policy dialogue, and strategic partnerships.
