NIMN Ikeja Chapter Set to Hold Annual Public Lecture May 10

…Idorenyen Enang, Kolawole Oyeyemi, Ifeoluwa Esther Obafemi to Speak on the Future of Marketing

The Ikeja Chapter of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has concluded plans to host its 2023 annual public lecture.

According to the organizers, the event with the theme: “The future of Marketing: How to prepare for the changes ahead” will hold on May 10 at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Center Beside Japaul House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos by 11 am. It is a free to attend event.

The host of the event, Otunba Adebayo Oke said for this year’s lecture, it has a line-up of seasoned marketing professionals and marketing stakeholders who will share insights on the future marketing, trends and what practitioners need to do to stay ahead of the game.

“We have lined-up seasoned marketing professionals who will share their vast experience in marketing and insight on how to prepare for the change ahead. The fact is that change is what is current and we are in a fast-changing world of technology disruption, changing government policies, raising environmental issues, and others and the best thing is to always be prepared,” he stated.

The professionals expected to speak at the event include the CEO, of Corporate Shepherds Limited, and the President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Idorenyen Enang, who will deliver a keynote address as the Chief Speaker. Other speakers are Kolawole Oyeyemi, MD/CEO, Axiom Intel Nigeria Limited, and Ifeoluwa Esther Obafemi, Head Sub-Saharan Africa Digital Media & Insights, Friesland Campina WAMCO Plc.

The discussants of the theme are Sola Oke, MD, Pernod Ricard Nigeria/West Africa; Dr. Bamidele Wale-Osninowo, Senior Lecturer, Entrep & Strategy, UNILAG; Dr. Tola Bamisaiye Elatuyi, Marketing Director, Pladis Global; Nwabuike Gloria, Head of Category Dairy Products, Chi Nig Ltd and Onome Odili, Managing Consultant, Ezulwini Consulting Limited would moderated the session.

Remarkably, Enang is a proven reform-minded business leader with a passion for development economics. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over twenty-seven years, Idy as he is fondly called has held key positions of increasing responsibility at Executive Management levels across Africa; building and transforming several global brands like Guinness (a subsidiary of Diageo) as a Brand Manager, Coca-Cola as the Country Marketing Manager in Kenya, Chief of Staff to the Equatorial Africa President, then later driving the business in the East & Central Region as General Manager before moving on to turn-around Cadbury from a near comatose state to profitability as Commercial Director.

He had an exceptional stint at Samsung Electronics where he served as Managing Director for Nigeria out of its West Africa Hub in Lagos, and until recently served as the Managing Director for L’Oreal Central West Africa where he managed the two subsidiaries of the beauty giant across West Africa.

Oyeyemi is a strategically robust and creative marketing management professional with more than two decades wealth of management, marketing, and marketing communications experience; with a track record of successful marketing management practice across industries from a leading multinational FMCG company to telecommunications. He served as the General Manager, Consumer Marketing of the largest telecommunication company in Nigeria, MTN, before starting his own company.

Obafemi is award-winning and seasoned business management, strategy execution, and leadership success expert with more than a decade extensive work experience in global multinational companies. She holds several leadership positions in both corporate and social circles; with an innate passion for delivering impact and helping individuals achieve their full potential in life, career, and business. She serves as a convener for several business and career empowerment platforms for youths and women. A sought-after speaker, lead facilitator, and member of the faculty of both local and international learning academies.

Expected to attend the event are marketing professionals, customer service personnel, marketing intern, marketing undergrads drawn from UNILAG, Caleb University, Babcock University, Crawford University, Covenant University, Ogun state institute of technology,Igbesa, Lagos state university, Lagos state university of science and technology and Yaba college of Technology.

Previous editions of the annual public lecture have had resource persons: such as Lampe Omoyele, Alex Goma, Lere Baale, Funke Odediran,Kunle Akanmu, Ugorji,Prof Dixon-Ogbecie, Aare Fatai Odesile and John Olaoye.
