NNPC Foundation, CMCR to Host Symposium on Energy and Sustainable Environment Communication in Lagos

The NNPC Foundation Symposium on Energy and Sustainable Environment Communication, organized by the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) at Pan-Atlantic University, will take place on May 22-23, 2025, at the main campus of Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos.

The symposium aims to explore innovative solutions for utilizing environmental communication as a vital strategy to address the challenges of energy and climate change in Nigeria. This event is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the NNPC Foundation, focusing on promoting sustainable development within Nigeria’s ecological landscape.

Keynote speakers for the event include Prof. Abdullahi Bashir, the National President of the African Council of Communication Education; Mr. Martins Oloja, former Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian newspaper; and Prof. Nuhu Gapsiso from the University of Maiduguri.

The symposium will also host notable participants, including Mr. Thomas Samuel from the Taraba State Broadcasting Service, Mr. Shina Adesanya, a Civil Society Organization member, and Dr. Rasaq Adisa from the University of Ilorin.
