OAAN Set to host 10th Poster Awards
The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) is set to host a decade of its Poster Awards, slated to hold at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites on Thursday June 30, 2016.
As part of plans to make the awards a memorable one, a new logo has been unveiled. The Committee Chairman, Ladi Sole explained with excitement that the Poster Awards is the pride of the Association.
This is because it not only shows the Associations appreciation of creativity in the industry, but creates a forum where stakeholders in Marketing Communications and other works of life meet to interact in an atmosphere of relaxation, beauty and splendor. he said.
He went further to explain that the categories for the Awards consideration have not changed as he encouraged the creative and Buying Agencies to seize this landmark edition to also make their landmark in the number of entries they submit.
Another interesting aspect of this years Awards is the introduction of a new category Regulatory Agency of the year. The new category the committee chairman said shows appreciation for the role of Government Agencies play in the advertising industry. More so, he affirmed that the panels of Judges were drawn from the various sectoral bodies and institutions to give credence to the exercise which would be inaugurated on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Sole said the 10th edition with the theme Strengthening Partnerships has been designed to give great prominence to the Business Session where renowned players in various sectors that affect the advertising subsector would be in attendance, with the key note address being given by the doyen of the Marketing Communications industry, Biodun Shobanjo. Shobanjo will be talking on the topic Indices of a vibrant Economy: Outdoor Advertising- A catalyst for growth.
On his part, the President of the Association, Tunde Adedoyin corroborated Soles position; he emphasized that plans were already on the way to make the event a success. He thereafter confirmed that the Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed would grace the occasion as the Chairman.
Recalling the 9th edition, the awards categories were: Diary food and beverages; alcoholic drinks; non-alcoholic drinks; financial services; public service and real estate; electronics and electrical; automobiles and accessories; household products; pharmaceuticals cosmetics; telecoms; Information communication Technology (ICT); grand poster and Legend of Out of Home.
