Osoba, Momoh, Adeluyi to Grace Humanitarian Reporting Awards as Rotary District 9110 Rewards Journalists, Media Houses
Prominent stakeholders in the media and political landscape are set to converge as Rotary International District 9110, the organisers of the Humanitarian Reporting Awards (RHRA)2023-2024 edition, recognises and reward journalists for their excellent reportage of humanitarian stories on Wednesday April 17,2024 between 11 am to 2pm at Rotary Centre, 8 Ladoke Akintola Street, Ikeja -GRA, Lagos.
Some of the dignitaries expected at the event are Olusegun Osoba, the former Governor of Ogun State as the Chairman of the occasion; Dr. John Momoh, Chairman Channels Media Group as Special Guest of Honour and Gbenga Adefaye, Provost of Nigerian Institute of Journalism as Keynote speaker.
According to Rotary International District 9110 District Governor, Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie “ the awards is aimed at strengthening the partnership between Rotary and the media by recognizing journalists and media organizations with outstanding record of reportage of our District and Clubs humanitarian intervention projects in the communities”.
RHRA Committee Chairman, Assistant Governor Ehi Braimah, Publisher Naija Times Online Newspaper disclosed that fifteen categories are to be given awards.
Ehi Braimah noted that Awards categories include:
Best Television station in the coverage of Rotary Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Best Radio Station in the coverage of Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Best newspaper in reportage of Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Best Newspaper in reportage of clubs and District 9110 Polio eradication activities; Best Online newspaper in reportage of Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Best Online TV station in reportage of Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Best Online Magazine in reportage of Clubs and D9110 activities; Best Outdoor in promoting humanitarian and Club activities; Best Male Celebrity Endorser promoting Polio eradication; Best Female Celebrity Endorser promoting Polio eradication ; Most Outstanding Broadcast Journalist in reportage of Clubs and D9110 activities;
Most Outstanding Print Journalist in reportage of Clubs and D9110 activities;
Best Television Station in the coverage of Clubs and RI D9110 activities; Most Outstanding Public Image Director with media reportage of humanitarian stories and Overall Best Rotary Club in humanitarian reporting.
In his contribution, Rotarian Olalekan Otun, Vice Chairman RHRA Committee stated that “Mr Gbenga Adefaye, Provost Nigerian Institute of Journalism delivers the Keynote address; Dr John Momoh, Chairman Channels Media Group is the Special Guest of honor and Past District Governor, Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi, former Minister of Health and Aremo Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State is the Chairman of the occasion.”
He added that over 140 Rotary clubs and 14,000 Rotarians participated in nominating entries for the awards.
