P.R Professionals Shine at Lagos’ 10th LaPRIGA Gala and Awards

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) hosted a spectacular 10th edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA 2025) on Friday at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos. This milestone event celebrated a decade of recognising excellence, innovation, and professionalism within Nigeria’s public relations sector.

Under the theme “Nox Excellentia – Night of Excellence,” the event brought together leading communication professionals, corporate executives, public sector leaders, academics, media practitioners, and stakeholders from across Nigeria’s communication ecosystem. LaPRIGA reaffirmed its position as Nigeria’s premier PR awards platform and one of the most respected in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In his welcome address, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, FNIPR, FRPA, Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR, described LaPRIGA as a powerful symbol of collective vision and professional commitment.
“Ten years on, LaPRIGA stands tall as a testament to what collective passion and professional excellence can achieve. Tonight is not just a celebration; it is a reaffirmation of excellence as the enduring value of our profession,” he stated.

Dr. Ayetutu praised the event’s evolution into what many now regard as the “Oscar of the Public Relations Industry in Nigeria,” commending the Chapter’s deliberate efforts to deliver a world-class experience for this milestone edition. He also lauded the Planning and Selection committees for hosting a flawless event based on credibility and transparency.

Chido Nwakama, Chairman of the Selection Committee, revealed that over 100 entries were received across 19 award categories for 2025, reflecting the increasing recognition of the awards and the improving standards of professional practice.
While acknowledging the quality of submissions, Nwakama urged practitioners to embrace peer review and professional validation as essential for the growth and credibility of the industry.
“Submitting your work for scrutiny is a professional stride, not a vulnerability. Excellence thrives when it is confidently showcased,” he said.
