Rotary District 9111 to Host Presidents-elect Learning Seminar
Rotary International District 9111 is preparing to host its Presidents-elect Leadership Learning Seminar from Friday to Saturday, 6th to 7th March 2026, at the Festival Hotel, Festac, Lagos. The event is organised for incoming club presidents who will serve during the 2026-2027 Rotary year.
District 9111 Governor-elect, Bukola Bakare, stated that the seminar aims to equip upcoming presidents with essential leadership skills and shared experiences to effectively lead their clubs.
The newly elected presidents will be trained on the expectations and responsibilities associated with their roles and offices.
She also announced that Uganda’s past District Rotaract Representative, Allan Ntambi, will deliver a talk titled “Today’s Rotaractor, Tomorrow’s Rotary Leader”. Additionally, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi, pioneer District 9111 Governor and Chief Medical Director of Ace Medicare Ltd, will lead a session on “Planning Your Year Ahead”. District 9111 Governor-nominee, Dr Samuel Ayetutu, will speak on “Planning Meetings and Providing a Satisfying Club Experience”.
Bakare further disclosed that other facilitators include: past District 9111 Governor, Otunba Bola Onabadejo, who will lead a session on Rotary “Foundation Fundraising Strategies”; former Managing Director of Crittall Hope Plc and past District Governor, Remi Bello, who will speak on “Telling Your Rotary Story”; Michael Effiong, Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor and District 9111 Executive Secretary, who will discuss “Public Image and Social Media”; District 9111 Governor-nominee designate, Engr Ade Oyenekan, speaking on “Rotary Programmes for Young Leaders”; and Mr Oladele Olanike, who will conduct a session on “Leadership and the Power of a Creative Mind”.
Chairman of the Presidents-elect Learning Seminar (PELS), Past Assistant Governor Efedi Jellily, added that “participants will gain in-depth knowledge on leadership, Rotary operations, strengthen their professional networks, and develop skills in team building and project management.”
Efedi emphasised that “the training is designed to hone the leadership skills of our new club presidents so that they can perform effectively and efficiently,” urging participants to approach the programme with seriousness.
Rotary District 9111 Learning Facilitator, Past District Governor Bola Oyebade, noted that “the knowledge gained will also benefit participants in other areas of their business, marriage, projects, and personal financial management.”
Oyebade further stated that “the Presidents-elect Learning Seminar remains a cornerstone programme aimed at capacity building, strengthening leadership, and preparing Rotary leaders at club level to deliver impactful humanitarian services across communities.”
