Rotary International District 9111 to Host Leadership Seminar for Presidents-Elect

Rotary International District 9111 is set to host its Presidents-elect Learning Seminar (PELS) on March 28 and 29, 2025, at Orchid Hotel in Lekki, Lagos. This seminar aims to prepare the incoming Presidents of various clubs for their leadership roles in the 2025-2026 Rotary year.

Rotarian Henry Akinyele, the District Governor-elect for the 2025-2026 term and the seminar’s convener, announced that the event will be officially opened by Dr. Wole Kukoyi, the District Governor for the 2024-2025 Rotary year and Chief Medical Director at Ace Medicare Clinic.

The seminar will feature a distinguished panel of training facilitators, including: Remi Bello, former Managing Director of Critall Hope Aluminum Plc and Past District Governor; Omotunde Lawson, District Learning Facilitator and the first female District Governor; Patrick Ikheloa, Managing Director of Shab Company Ltd and Past District Governor; Samuel Ayetutu, Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Lagos Chapter and District Governor Nominee-Designate; Otunba Bola Onabadejo and Jide Akeredolu, both Past District Governors; Bukola Bakare, District Governor-nominee; and Michael Effiong, Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Akinyele announced that Past Rotary International Vice President, Yinka Babalola, will serve as the guest speaker. He emphasized that the Rotary International theme for the 2025-2026 year is “Unite for Good,” and participants will receive training on essential topics such as club leadership, teamwork, effective communication, action plan development, and goal-setting.

“Rotary is an international service organization that unites business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, promote high ethical standards, and advance goodwill and peace worldwide,” Akinyele concluded.
