Stakeholders Set for Nigeria Auto Industry Summit Thursday as Focus Shifts to EV, CNG Transition

All is set for the 3rd Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU 2026), which holds on Thursday, July 31, at the Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered transportation.
Organised by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), the summit is themed “Nigeria’s Clean Mobility Future: The EV and CNG Journey Under the Bola Tinubu Administration.”
The one-day event will convene senior government officials, automotive manufacturers, vehicle assemblers, regulators, financial institutions, fleet operators, technology providers, investors and development partners to deliberate on policy directions, investment opportunities and strategies for advancing clean mobility in Nigeria.
Among the major industry players expected at the summit are Weststar Associates Limited, TNL, Jetour, Carloha Nigeria, Simba Group, Cedric Masters Group, Coscharis Motors and LSM, alongside representatives of key government agencies and private sector organisations.
A major highlight of the event will be the keynote address by the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who will speak on road safety, regulatory reforms and the safe integration of electric vehicles and CNG-powered vehicles into Nigeria’s transport system.
Other speakers will deliver presentations on safety standards, infrastructure development, financing, local vehicle manufacturing, technology transfer and policy initiatives required to accelerate Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
Speaking ahead of the summit, Chairman of the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), Theodore Opara, described the event as an important platform for dialogue among policymakers and industry leaders at a time when Nigeria is implementing reforms to expand the adoption of cleaner energy vehicles.
According to him, the summit will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to review ongoing initiatives, exchange ideas and develop practical recommendations that will support the growth of the country’s automotive industry.
Also commenting, Chairman of the NAISU 2026 Planning Committee, Rasheed Bisiriyu, said preparations had been concluded for the summit, noting that participants should expect robust discussions on electric mobility, CNG adoption, infrastructure development, investment, local content and consumer acceptance.
The summit is expected to conclude with recommendations aimed at supporting government efforts to modernise the automotive sector, deepen investments and advance Nigeria’s clean mobility agenda.
