…Remita to unveil new app to deepen customer engagement

Chief Executive Officer, SystemSpecs Limited, John Obaro has disclosed that technology will create a cultural shift among individuals and businesses especially with the growing technology solutions created in all spare of human endeavours.

He also revealed that plans have been concluded to unveil an app for the company’s e-payment platform, Remita. The app is expected to help customers; individuals, Private and public business owners make seamless transaction on the go.

Obaro who was a discussant at the International Conference, tagged “Towards a smart city”, an event to commemorate Lagos at 50 held at Convention Center, Eko Hotel, Lagos recently, said technology is changing business landscape, creating opportunities for new businesses to be created and some are forced to close shop because of cultural changes.

“Today you buy a vehicle, you now discover you don’t really need to buy a vehicle, you can ride any vehicle you want any time. I want to enter a Mercedes today via Uber or whatever, a Mercedes opens, tomorrow BMW, the following day is another and these vehicles are working practically for 24 hours. I don’t need to buy a vehicle use it two, three years a day and park it the following day.

“The implication is how money is spent will bringing to change, that is one, two, the kind of jobs that will be available. We talk of drivers; we are now talking of driverless cars. As we speak, Uber is already experimenting and the efficiency rate is very high and these things are going to be more efficient than humans. What this mean is that the nature of jobs will change.”, he explained.

Speaking on the Remita app, Obaro stated that the app enables customers make payment and any other financial transaction without stress on their mobile devices from anywhere.

“We have been working on our Remita App and in the next few weeks, we believe it should be out fully into the market. We believe it is a game changer for the industry because we are saying, “bring in all your requirement into one app and you are able to link up with your different service providers.

“You are link up to your different banks; you can link up to your different telcos, you are linked up to your different wallet, you are linked up to your different pension industry, you are linked up to state government for taxes. It gives one integrated line. We believe it is one thing that will add value to the lives of Nigerians”, Obaro said

Remita is an e-Payments and e-Collections solution on a single multi-bank platform. Remita is in use by many individuals, public and private sector organisations that process over 500 Billion Naira worth of transactions on a monthly basis.

Adopted by the Central Bank of Nigeria for the payment and collections of funds on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria and used by all 22 commercial banks and over 400 micro finance banks, Remita has significantly assisted to revolutionize the e-payment industry in Nigeria.
