The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has embarked on a mega rally to boost its brand presence and grow its membership to 40 million.

The ushering department of RCCG Region 2 (Overcomers Family) organized the mega rally on Saturday, July 13 which it said is in line with the church’s Vision 2032 target.

Noteworthy,  the RCCG Vision 2032 aims to grow the church to 40 million members by expanding through an “explosive and expansive growth model”. This it stated will be achieved by establishing 400, 000 units of 100 members each across the country through parish planting,  upgrading existing parishes, and utilizing mobile churches.

Speaking on what informed the mega rally, Pastor Steve Jaiyeoba, Lagos Province 14 Pastor in charge said the exercise is beyond increasing its membership but also having members who will impact the society positively because of the lessons they have learned from the church.

“Aside from populating the kingdom of God, it also ensures there is more of the people of the spirit of God in our society,” he said.

He explained further that multiplicity of churches in the country has helped reduce vices and its plans to expand will help make the society better.

“The fact that we have this kind of trouble despite the multiplicity of churches all over the place confirms to me that if it had not been the church the problems would probably have been worse. That may not necessarily mean that the problem will reduce but an indication that the church is playing its role and as we play our role, I can assure you that even God himself will be pleased,” he stated.

Similarly, Pastor Mrs Olowe Taiwo,  Assistant Head of Usher, Lagos Province 14 said the rally is part of an effort to increase the number of God-fearing individuals who will contribute to the development of the country.

The rally was divided into three groups under the same province, under the church’s Vision 2032. Group 1, comprises Lagos Province 8, 13, 51, 56, 69, 84.95 and 104 at Bariga; Group 2, comprises Lagos Province 50, 85, 87 and 105 at Pen Cinema and Group 3, includes Lagos Province 9, 14 and 106. The group 3 rally started at the Aswani bus stop and ended at LP 14 Head Quarter, Mushin/Isolo road, beside General Hospital, Isolo, Lagos.
