As momentum gathers for the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) which will also be followed by the election of new executives to steer the affairs of the council..
The apex seat, the office of the President is the centre of attention for stakeholders. As aspirants reel out their manifestoes, the members keenly watch and decide who they will vote for to take the council to the next level.
Below are the aspirants in no particular order and their profile:
MEET THE ASPIRANTS
Nkechi Ali-Balogun
At the helm of affairs is the Principal Consultant/CEO, Nkechi Ali-Balogun a multi-talented industry veteran with over 25 years of experience on both the client and services side of Public Relations and Training consultancy as well as providing solutions to managerial problems and other functions of management.
She has lived in your shoes and knows how to turn issues into opportunities. Nkechi’s experience includes serving as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter and currently a member of the Governing Council,
She is a gifted strategist with intuitively creative abilities. As a result, she is an in-demand industry facilitator, motivational speaker, and mentor in her career.
A graduate of the University of Lagos she also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and an MBA in Management from the same University. In addition, she has attended Public Relations Management courses in Frank Jefkins School of Public Relations, London and the prestigious Lagos Business School.
Nkechi has won many awards and the first female to win the Most Outstanding Public Relations Practitioner (Female) from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos.
Dr. Ike Neliaku
Ike Neliaku is a consummate Public Relations Practitioner, Development Administrator, Real Estate Developer, and Researcher. He worked in the federal public service for over 20 years, holding key positions in Federal Ministries and The Presidency at different times
Dr Neliaku has travelled to over 45 countries as a member of various federal government delegations and participated in more than 55 technical missions on sustainable development; information and communication management; negotiations, conciliation and diplomacy; cultural relations; public sector ad- ministration; infrastructure development; leadership and management development; gender equity and empowerment; youth development; etc. He served variously as Chairman, Technical Coordinator, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Member, of over 37 specialized committees at various times while in the service of the Federal Government of Nigeria. He also served as a Member Governing Board, Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.
He is the founding CEO of Cymbals Ltd; founding Vice Chairman/CEO abc Shelters Ltd; Principal Partner, Rightangle PR; Executive Producer Rightangle Productions; and Convener Issachar-200 Centre for Research and Development.
