Winners Emerge At Maiden Edition of Mobile Classroom Monthly Quiz
The management of Mobile Classroom, Nigeria’s first indigenous audiovisual classroom mobile application has announced winners of the maiden edition of its monthly online quiz for cash competition with participants from different parts of Nigeria including the Federal Capital City (FCT) Abuja. The organizers described the exercise as a remarkable stride in the adoption of technology as a tool for driving education in the new normal.
The Chief Executive Officer of Save-A-Lot Media Limited, the originator of the Mobile Classroom educational App, Mr. Akeem Salami while speaking during a Zoom App Winners party and media event said, “We are excited to see over ten thousand students across Nigeria competing for excellence using technology. The online time based test was competitive and it produced 20 brilliant winners from different parts of Nigeria. We have been vindicated that Mobile Classroom is aimed at promoting productive learning and to inspire students towards education”.
Mr. Salami, while announcing the winners, remarked that 20 students emerged top amongst 10,102 contestants who competed for the maiden edition of the online quiz competition. “We are particularly excited to see three students of the famous May Flower School Ikenne, Ogun State amongst 20 best in the competition. David Roluga, a product May Flower School came first, scoring 27 out of 30 Standard English Language based test to secure 90%. He completed the quiz session within 16 minutes to make history”.
He further noted that the widely publicized 20,000 cash incentive for winners has been credited to their respective bank accounts.
David Roluga who emerged first in the quiz for cash competition described his experience as exciting and a great inspiration for teeming population of Nigerian Students. “I am elated to be the winner of this online quiz competition. I studied through the mobile classroom video and did other preparation and here I am as winner. This is exciting moment for me and many other that Nigerian students to witness a brilliant platform like this to read and showcase their academic excellence. I appreciate the organizers.
Another student, Victor Kenechukwu Olise, a senior secondary school student from St. John Cross Minor Seminary, Enugu State noted with pride that the Mobile Classroom quiz for cash competition is an impetus for him and other Nigerian Students to read more. “I appreciate the organizers for this innovative opportunity for us. This is the time to read more for me. I encourage others to embrace this e-learning portal”.
According to the organizers, other winners who emerged from other Schools include: Divine Favour Iheanyichukwu, Archdeacon Dennis Junior Seminary, Imo State; Sofiat Temiloluwa Salami, Covenant University Secondary School, Ogun State; Augusta Adaogu Ogu, Government Secondary School, Abuja; Ayomide Ajayi, Baptist Girls’ Academy, Obanikoro, Lagos; John Olufemi, Bells Comprehensive Secondary School, Ogun state and Michael Okubena, Chrisland College Idimu, Lagos among other winners
An educationist and Principal of Chrisland College Idimu, Lagos Mrs. Chiedu Maduabuchi expressed confidence in the organizers of the Quiz contest. “We are delighted to witness great initiative aimed at promoting academic excellence amongst our students. Initially we thought it wasn’t real until we did our due diligence to confirm. We really appreciate the organizers for committing resources for this laudable project, may God provide you with the wherewithal to continue the stride.”, Mrs. Mabuchi said
In the meantime, the management of Mobile classroom has promised to up its ante by adding Teachers and tertiary institutions students’ categories to the Quiz for Cash contest. “The quiz takes place every last Saturday of the month, while third Saturdays are for Teachers and second Saturdays are for tertiary institutions students. The inclusion of Teachers is to motivate and reward them for their commitment to the education business,” Akeem Salami hinted
