It was an evening of celebration and honour as content producers and stakeholders in the ecosystem were awarded for their great works and outstanding performance at the prestigious NEMCEA “The Awards”.

The award which is in its second edition was held on August 24, 2023, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, and was well attended by the crème-de-la-crème in the industry. NEMCEA 2023 stands for Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards.
It is organised by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN).

NEMCEA “The Awards” was conceptualised to reward creativity, excellence, and innovation in the electronic media content ecosystem in Nigeria and to also reward achievement in prime-time television, radio, and online performance by all stakeholders within the content media industry. It is Nigeria’s leading content award for film, music, etc, hence, it focuses on recognising players in the TV, radio, and online space.

The Jury Chairman of the 2023 edition, Francis Onwochei, said the award was highly competitive and urged practitioners to pay attention to the entry regulations in subsequent editions and also enter for more categories.

In his words, “May I encourage members of the creative community to pay a little more attention to the entry regulations to ease adjudication processes.

“Most of the awards are competitive, some are noncompetitive, and so internally administered. The organisers created another Broad category (International) with two sub-categories being (a) Best Content Channel (International) and (b) Best Drama Series (International). We encourage stakeholders to key into these.
