NACCIMA Makes Case for Business-Friendly Policies to Advance Nigeria’s $1trn Economy Goal

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has called for stronger public-private partnership (PPP) support for local production and Nigerian businesses, saying an improved business environment will be key to achieving the Federal Government’s $1 trillion economy target by 2030.
The call was made by NACCIMA National Public Relations Officer Hajiah Madinat Adigun-Oladotun during an advocacy visit to the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, in Abuja.
During the meeting, Adigun-Oladotun outlined NACCIMA’s role as the voice of Nigeria’s business community and briefed Dalori on the Association’s activities over the past two years under the leadership of National President Engr. Jani Ibrahim.
She highlighted NACCIMA’s engagement with government agencies, the diplomatic community and international investors to expand support for Nigerian businesses and contribute to economic growth.
“NACCIMA under our National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, is actively in support of the $1 trillion economy by 2030 agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,. We believe the right support and a more conducive environment for businesses can take us to that level. That’s why our Association has been working very closely with key government agencies like the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Nigeria Investment Promotion Council (NIPC); Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC); NITDA; Bank of Industry; Bank of Agriculture; among others,” she said.
“We have also been strengthening our business relations with several countries and international investors. Apart from visiting various embassies and paying host to Ambassadors of foreign missions in Nigeria, we also participate in events that seek to boost the economic cooperation between Nigeria and other countries of the world.”
Adigun-Oladotun also informed Dalori about the NACCIMA B2B Investment Forum, scheduled to take place in Guangzhou, China, on November 2. She described it as a high-level platform through which the Association aims to support the government’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment and promote Nigeria’s economic potential, including that of its states.
Calling for the APC leader’s support, she said, “we want you to further advocate NACCIMA in rooms that matter.”
She also emphasised the importance of backing local production and Nigerian businesses, pointing to NACCIMA’s ‘Nigeria First’ advocacy.
Dalori commended NACCIMA’s contribution to government efforts to boost trade, investment and productivity. He highlighted incentives introduced by the Tinubu administration for businesses, while noting that further progress could be made.
The APC Deputy National Chairman welcomed the visit and pledged the necessary moral support.
