Mathesis Analytics, a pioneering Nigerian fintech company specializing in AI-powered credit decisioning infrastructure, has announced a strategic investment from Sewa Capital Limited. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to build Africa’s next-generation credit ecosystem and promote inclusive financial services across the continent.

The fresh capital infusion will fast-track the expansion and institutional deployment of Mathesis’ proprietary credit decisioning engine. Nigeria’s lending landscape currently faces a critical challenge: the fragmentation of verifiable consumer data hampers accurate risk assessment at scale. Mathesis addresses this gap by aggregating diverse transactional and behavioral data into a real-time creditworthiness measure, enabling lenders to make smarter, faster lending decisions.

This investment will support product innovation, deepen institutional integrations, grow Mathesis’ lender network, and enhance its data and technology infrastructure—empowering financial institutions to expand underwriting capacity, improve risk-based lending, and access untapped market segments without compromising risk standards.

Angela Jide-Jones, Managing Director of Sewa Capital, remarked: “At Sewa Capital, we are interested in businesses building the infrastructure that enables African economies to allocate capital more efficiently and inclusively. Mathesis Analytics is addressing a fundamental constraint in credit markets: the information gap that limits lenders’ ability to assess risk confidently. Its technology has the potential to expand responsible access to credit in Nigeria and, over time, across Africa. We are pleased to support the team through its next phase of growth.”

For Mathesis Analytics, this strategic investment signifies a pivotal step in its vision to develop a robust credit infrastructure that drives genuine financial inclusion. Having already supported over 8 million loans for more than 2 million unique borrowers in Nigeria, Mathesis is well-positioned to deepen its institutional footprint and expand into new markets. The company plans to leverage Sewa Capital’s backing to accelerate this growth trajectory.

“Credit inclusion begins with information visibility,” said Winston Osuchukwu, Founder and CEO of Mathesis Analytics. “Partnering with Sewa Capital accelerates the rollout of our infrastructure; equipping a wider network of lenders with the capabilities required to accurately evaluate risk and ultimately deliver credit services to previously excluded populations across the continent.”
